Bethany Retirement Living of Fargo held a groundbreaking ceremony today (Wednesday, June 10, 2015) to mark the beginning of construction on an expansion at its Bethany on 42nd campus.
The project will provide space for 58 senior apartment units. Large one- and two-bedroom apartments will be constructed in the four-story structure. The building will be attached to the existing Bethany on 42nd campus and renters will have access to Town Center amenities and will have priority for higher levels of care when needed. Each floor will have special common areas, including a fitness center, a library, a rooftop patio and a media/hobby area. Under-building parking will be available and a guest room will be provided for visitors. The project is slated for completion by July, 2016.
Bethany President & CEO Shawn Stuhaug said, “We are thrilled to be able to offer independent senior living to our continuum of care. We have had a remarkably positive reaction to the Bethany on 42nd campus. This project is part of a long-range strategic plan to expand the senior services Bethany is able to offer to the community.
John Hertsgaard, Chair of the Bethany Retirement Living Board of Trustees remarked that, “For more than 75 years, Bethany has been the leader in providing senior living opportunities in our community. This exciting project will allow us to do more of what we do so well – provide loving care and services to individuals and families who call Bethany “home.”
Architect for the Bethany on 42nd campus is YHR Partners of Moorhead MN. Roers Construction & Development of Fargo has been awarded the bid as general contractor.
