Bethany Gables Earns 2024 AHCA/NCAL Bronze National Quality Award

Bethany Retirement Living’s Gables Assisted Living at Bethany on 42nd has been recognized as a 2024 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) for a commitment to improving the lives of residents through quality care. Bethany Gables is one of just three assisted living facilities in North Dakota and 135 assisted living facilities across the country to receive the Bronze Award.

“This recognition of the outstanding care we provide our residents at Bethany Retirement Living helps us stay on track as we continually strive to improve services for our residents,” said Shawn Stuhaug, President/CEO at Bethany Retirement Living. “It allows us to compare ourselves against others in our market, as well as statewide and nationally. We are very proud of the work our employees do to care for the residents and patients at Bethany.”

The distinction is the first of three progressive award levels through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. The Award Program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Providers begin the quality improvement process at the Bronze Level, where they assess their organization’s mission, vision, and key factors that lead to success. Trained examiners review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria. Bronze recipients can now move on to the Silver Quality Award.

“Our recipients exemplify leadership and a steadfast commitment to quality and innovation,” said LaShuan Bethea, Executive Director of NCAL. “Their accomplishment is a crucial step in creating an even brighter future for all residents and staff. We honor their dedication and celebrate the positive impact they are making in our assisted living communities.”

The awards will be presented during AHCA/NCAL’s Convention & Expo in Orlando, Florida, October 6-9, 2024.

Bethany Retirement Living was founded in Fargo in 1939 and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
