Maro Bianco Bañez of Bethany Retirement Living has received Board Certification in Gerontological Nursing through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  He is the Nurse Manager of the Transitional Care Unit at Bethany on University.

Bañez is a native of Mandaluyong City, Philippines, and earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.  Bañez began at Bethany Retirement Living as a Charge Nurse in June 2019 and was named Unit Manager of the Cedar Square nursing unit in February 2020.  He has been in his current position since January 2022.

Certification is validation of RN knowledge and competency in a nursing specialty area through successful completion of a comprehensive examination and achievement of other relevant benchmarks, including RN licensure and successful clinical practical experience in that specialty.  National certification is recognized as achievement of the highest standard of clinical and leadership competence and serves to ensure employer, residents and families of quality nursing care.
