When you think about it, the residents who currently live in retirement facilities like Bethany shaped our region – the cities, the towns, the rural areas. They built a strong economy, schools, a vibrant sense of community, and created the roadmap for the rest of us to follow. They took care of us and now it’s time that we take care of them. We sustain their efforts and honor their legacy by listening, meeting their needs, providing opportunities to remain active and vital, and acknowledging their contributions to the life we now enjoy in the Red River Valley.
Bethany Retirement Living encourages individuals around the community to donate their valuable time to the residents who reside here. Anyone can volunteer: retirees, students, business groups, representatives from our sponsor churches, and more. There are many ways to volunteer, as well, like working with our Auxiliary to raise funds to purchase materials and services to enrich our residents’ lives, assisting in offices, helping residents get to activities and programs, delivering mail, and simply – and probably most important – spending one-to-one time with these individuals.
If time is not an available resource to give back, certainly financial support is always welcomed. Charitable support of the mission at Bethany Retirement Living enables us to provide many of the special facets of care that make Bethany unique. You can also refer prospective residents or employees to Bethany Retirement Living. Many of our most valuable employees and most satisfied residents come from suggestions of those who know Bethany. And lastly, advocate for Bethany or for senior care in general. With the Legislature in Session this spring, they need to hear how important quality care is for the elderly.
Your time, funds, and efforts do not go unnoticed. Bethany holds a volunteer luncheon each spring as a way to say “thanks” to those who have devoted resourced back to our mission. But even more rewarding than that are the kind words, hugs and smiles that come from Bethany staff and residents each and every day. Bethany Retirement Living loves their volunteers and knows it wouldn’t be the same award-winning care community without their help and support.
